As mentioned elsewhere, I have a moderately long greeting. With my phone company voicemail, a caller can press "#" (for many providers it's "1") to stop the greeting, play the tone, and begin recording a message. I instruct my callers to do just that.

How might I go about that with Phlink? Pressing 1 does stop the greeting and start recording, at least with "Enable touch tone commands" and "Interrupt any currently-playing sound" enabled, but the tone I hear with "Play beep when executing commands" is not sufficient to notify the caller that recording has begun.

(Using # instead doesn't play a tone at all, but does work to stop the greeting and start recording, probably because # is normally used as a command terminator.)

How can I get the tone used for "Play tone after greetings" to play for the caller when she enters a command?

Well, here's how I did it:

- Create a MP3 file with a short amount of silence
- Name the file '1.mp3' and put it in the Phlink Items folder
- Enable touchtone commands is on
- Play beep when executing commands is off
- Terminate commands with the '#' sign is off
- Interrupt any currently-playing sound is selected
- Play tone after greetings is on
