No answer from support therefore the posting here:

I had to change my Mac mini (Intel) to a newer machine which is a Mac mini (Intel) also. Since my "old" Mac mini was updated over the years from Mac OS 10.4 to 10.6.2 Ovolab Phlink (4.0.3) always worked fine. The "new" Mac mini came with Mac OS 10.6.2 pre-installed.

I copied the Phlink application and the appropriate folders (Phlink items and so on) and find the following problems:

1) For any caller the greeting message (.wav) sounds "staccato".
2) Phlink doesn't hang up when the caller did. The software continues recording to full length.

I also tried to delete the Phlink software completely incl. all pref files but both problems remain.

Does anyone have a clue?

No help I'm afraid, just a 'me too'. However, my Mini is still on Leopard and Phlink 3.6.1, the only thing that happened was I took my system apart and put it back together again whilst decorating. I've replaced all the cables, but no joy.

Coincidentally I've just upgraded my Phlink machine and I'm pretty sure the problem stemmed from plugging the telephone adapter into a USB hub, rather than the Mac itself. It seems to be working again now.

Could that be your problem?

I installed the "older" version 3.6.1 which does the job perfect now. So I don't believe it's an cable issue.
I'm considering to ask for refunding the upgrade price from v3 to v4…
